Integrity and the CVC launched the current version of Explore St. Louis in 2011 as a way for visitors to easily book hotels and flights and to navigate the city once they arrive.
A lot can happen in four years, which is like a century in tech time. Sure enough, mobile web browsing has exploded since 2011, and the Explore St. Louis site certainly hasn't been exempt from this trend.
Two years ago, the CVC/Integrity team enhanced the Explore St. Louis mobile experience by beefing up its mobile pages and building new versions of the CVC's iOS and Android apps.
But today, more than 50 percent of Explore St. Louis's traffic comes from users on a host of mobile and tablet devices. It became clear to the CVC/Integrity team that we needed to provide a more complete, seamless experience on Explore St. Louis for all users across desktop, tablet and mobile. We all decided a responsive website design was the way to go.
The new site will be totally optimized for modern browsers and devices. We're auditing the entire site – content, functionality, user flows, visual design, everything – to establish a mobile-first platform for the future. What won't change, however, is the site's heartfelt St. Louis pride and its role as the premier resource for all things STL.
