Utilizing video marketing to introduce a medical fellowship program

Integrity teamed up with Washington University’s Department of Internal Medicine to create an introductory program for potential candidates for the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research program during COVID-19 restrictions. The client desired an effective video series to introduce the clinical and research fellowship program that could help them obtain at least four new postdoctoral students.

Pain points

Because of the pandemic, it became a challenge for the client and potential postdoctoral candidates to schedule, travel and coordinate in-person activities. 


Working with a tight budget and timeline, the Division would have to rely on a  video program to showcase its offerings and stay competitive in obtaining fellowship candidates from a limited number of applicants. The videos also needed to address any questions or concerns about living in St. Louis.

Integrity’s strategy and consulting team identified the top five most vital topics for potential fellowship candidates: 


  • What is the program like?
  • What made you pick this program?
  • What made you pick the research?
  • What do you like best about the program?
  • What’s it like living in St. Louis? 


Integrity interviewed professors as well as current and previous fellowship students, asking the above questions to gather useful clips. Integrity’s video production team strategically edited together the footage to address the client’s concerns and educate potential candidates on the research and program. Our team had limited still photography available but strategically utilized the content to be informative while avoiding any violation of patient privacy.  


The video series received hundreds of views and allowed Washington University to receive a large pool of candidates during unprecedented enrollment due to the global pandemic. Integrity optimized the videos to continue to be relevant and informative post-pandemic.
