Panera Bread is the most successful fast-casual restaurant chain by sales and 10th largest franchised fast food chain in the United States. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Panera's target market focuses on urban workers and suburban dwellers. Its core concept is to create a unique café experience, while providing high-quality foods centered around fresh baked goods.

Panera came to Integrity to help upgrade and modernize its core team member training platforms.

Pain points

Panera had to solve two main problems:

Replace its aging Flash framework training platform.
Upgrade the internal development team with the subject matter expertise required to support the long-term viability of its future-state eLearning approach.

The eLearning framework was originally built with Flash technology. With the technology world shifting away from Flash, Panera needed to rethink its entire training platform team and product roadmap.

Integrity was able to successfully resolve Panera’s pain points with the following tactics:

Created a general eLearning JavaScript framework (akashell) to be used with any of Panera's eLearning courses
Implemented a representative course module for delivery with Panera team members for training and testing the general framework used for all modules
Created a library of reusable components and styles
Created a visual React style guide for consistent GUI implementation
Standardized source control with Git and created automated build processes
Provided the training and education needed for the Panera team to independently support and grow the software over time via pair programming
