The saying "knowledge is power" rings especially true for people facing a cancer diagnosis. Finding clear and accurate health treatment information as quickly as possible is extremely important in such a stressful situation.

No one knows this better than the team at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis. They are known as national leaders in cancer treatment for a reason. Siteman's Washington University physicians, nurses and other staff offer specialized care, support and expertise that's second to none.

But Siteman realized its previous website didn't market the institution's top status as well as it could. They partnered with Integrity to rethink their content, overhaul the site's user experience and ultimately redevelop the site to reinforce their position as cancer treatment experts.

We kicked things off with a full discovery phase and content audit. Siteman had a wealth of valuable information on its site, but it was in need of cleanup and reorganization. We empowered the Siteman team to create and manage content on the new site by providing a comprehensive content strategy covering voice, style, messaging and governance.

It was important for the site itself to instill confidence in visitors that they would be in good hands at Siteman. We accomplished this in several ways. The site uses responsive web design best practices so visitors can access information from nearly any device. We made the copy easy to read and kept the visual design bright and upbeat. And we made Siteman's contact information, locations and appointment request links clear and prominent so users are always aware of the next steps they can take.

Finally, we built the site leveraging the WordPress content management system, which makes it easy for the Siteman team to keep the site up to date with the latest news, research and patient information.

"Siteman's commitment to fighting and finding new ways to defeat cancer is simply awesome," said Integrity Partner and Chief Creative Officer Ed Morrissey. "The new Siteman website was built with our user-first approach to web application development and is a valuable resource for physicians, staff and patients."
