Mobile app development makes it possible to do almost anything on your smartphone or tablet. For super busy medical professionals, this includes completing continuing medical education (CME).
Swank Healthcare, a leading online healthcare education distributor, partnered with Integrity to build a custom iOS app that allows medical professionals to take the courses they need to maintain their licensure.
The free iOS app gives Swank Healthcare account holders instant access to 500 free CME courses across 18 professions. Course completion is as easy as watching the course video, taking a test and completing an evaluation of the course.
Users can also view their course history so they're always aware of their progress.
The key to the Swank Healthcare app's success is a simple user experience. When the goal is to make 500 courses accessible from virtually anywhere, there's no room for extra bells and whistles.
We kept the navigation logical and the text easy to read. The visual design is Swank Healthcare-branded but minimal. This eliminates distractions and drives course completions.
Like we frequently say around here: Beautiful is easy. Successful is hard.
Our mobile app development team tapped directly into the Swank Healthcare course library via a custom API to serve up course lists, videos and tests to users. We used Apple's Xcode integrated development environment and the Objective-C programming language to complete the app architecture.
"Working with the Swank Healthcare team has been a truly awesome experience," Integrity Partner and Chief Creative Officer Ed Morrissey said. "This app is proof of their passion for helping busy medical professionals achieve their education goals."
The Swank Healthcare app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It is available in the App Store.
