In spring 2016, the Integrity team launched a new website for Explore St. Louis. Its user-centric design is easy to use and helps guide visitors to the exciting things that make St. Louis an awesome destination city.
When building Phase 1 of the website, we used a mobile-first approach since a large percentage of users see the site on their mobile devices. After launching the new website, one major feature for Phase 2 was the improvement of the mobile experience so users can easily locate attractions and restaurants using geolocation. Explore St. Louis has two mobile apps with a geolocation feature – one for iPhone and one for Android – but they wanted an easy-to-use experience for mobile users on their website, too.
Now, users on mobile devices can sort St. Louis's top destinations by proximity. When sorted, the locations list shows the user the attractions closest to their current location. Each attraction is listed with a distance and option to get directions, providing users with the information they need to select a destination and get there quickly.
