When the COVID-19 lockdown hit, associations across the country were caught off guard. Suddenly, groups that were fundamentally based on physical events and meetings were scrambling to evaluate and pivot to virtual platforms. 

Conducting Virtual Events for Associations

Fortunately for our clients, the Integrity association management team had been preparing for a potential lockdown weeks ahead of time. Tools that made virtual events possible were assessed and put in place. Communication plans were drafted and implemented by association members.

When the doors on in-person events finally closed, our Association clients were already prepared for and set-up to be 100% virtual. And the show, as they say, went on. 

The Future of Association Events

At the moment, none of our association clients plan to return to in-person meetings for the remainder of the year. 

While in-person events have their benefits, in light of COVID (and beyond), virtual presents new opportunities for meetings. It’s easier to get speakers from all over the country, for one. There are no venue parking issues, travel time or food costs. The association meeting of the future may have elements of both virtual/streaming and in-person when we are finally able to meet in person.
